The Brazilian star Extends Regret to Los Blancos Devotees

Vinicius Jr in action

The attacker has scored five goals in ten domestic competition outings during the current campaign.

Real Madrid winger Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to supporters for his conduct when replaced in Sunday's heated match against Barcelona win.

He was taken off in the second half and displayed his frustration by walking immediately down the tunnel.

Vinicius later returned to the sidelines and, after his team's 2-1 win, attempted to approach Barcelona's youngster Yamal during unpleasant post-match incidents.

"Now I want to say sorry to all the Madridistas for my reaction when I was taken off in the derby," Vinicius wrote on his account.

"Just as I have already done during the latest session, I also want to apologise again to my team-mates, the team, and the club president.

"Sometimes fervor overcomes me because I always want to succeed and support my team. My competitive character stems from the passion I hold for this institution and each thing it stands for."

Vinicius moved to the Spanish capital from his former club in 2018 for Β£38.7m and has scored over a century of strikes in 335 appearances.

But his career in the Spanish capital is uncertain with rumors in lately stating that Los Blancos would think about allowing the 25-year-old depart if they obtained a good proposal.

When he was taken off on Sunday, broadcast footage from coverage provider Dazn picked him up remarking: "Always me! I'm leaving the team! It's preferable if I go, I'm going."

In his latest post on X, the athlete commented: "I promise to keep striving every second for the welfare of Real Madrid, as I have acted since the first day."
