Indianapolis Colts Face Falcons in German Capital – NFL Week 10

Hello, fussball enthusiasts. How are you? Alles klar I trust on this excellent morning kickoff to the tenth week coming straight outta Deutschland. Berlin's Olympic Stadium to be exact where at 9:30 AM EST and 2:30 PM GMT the powerful Colts (seven wins and two losses) take on the Atlanta Falcons (three wins and five losses). The fifth game played on soil in Germany and the initial in the nation’s capital.

Pregame Highlights

When it comes to glittering attire that is an absolute belter from Katarina Witt on the coin toss. A minor slip from Sky Sports there as we hear “who won the toss?” from the presenter with an accidentally live microphone.

So, the Colts have won the toss and have elected to receive. Daniel Jones and company will be setting up shortly. Will the QB bounce back after a rough one in Pittsburgh?

In a similar vein the vocalist performing the Star Spangled Banner has some of the biggest shoulder embellishments you are bound to notice. Loving the sartorial choices today. The game is about to start after a choir performance for the national anthem of Germany. Classy.

First Quarter Action

Scoreless at 13:30 in the first

Here we go! And we have an exciting start after the Colts running back receives a short throw, gains 15 yards on the outside to the right then loses the ball … only for his center to save his bacon with the recovery. Indianapolis quickly moves into Atlanta's half.

Still scoreless at 10:51

And the excitement continues as the Colts go for it on 4th down. The gamble fails to pay off as Josh Downs fails to catch a fastball from the quarterback. On the play before the turnover on downs Jessie Bates put a huge hit on tight end Mo Alie-Cox. The Falcons have come out fighting on defense as they attempt to end their three-game losing streak. Next up Sauce Garner’s debut!

Score Updates

First score: Colts lead 6-0 at 8:36

Was that a missed touchdown by Kyle Pitts? The Falcons player makes a crucial error, he was wide open but the ball just swishes through his hands. That play rather sums up the first round pick’s career to date.

So far, so disappointing but it only gets worse for the Falcons as they turn over possession to the Colts on the 23-yard mark. The Falcons quarterback is hunted down and can’t keep hold of the ball.

An agile 22-yard rush from Ashton Dulin sets the running back up to roll in for the score on the following play. The placekicker skews the extra point wide. Mistake.

TOUCHDOWN! Colts 6-7 Falcons 6:07, 1st quarter

The quarterback recovers from the turnover by leading Atlanta on a long drive for a touchdown. The wide receiver makes some substantial catches to put them in the scoring area then the defense opens up for Tyler Allgeier to saunter on to the goal line through the heart of the field for a 13-yard gain. The running back finishes it off for a short scoring run of his own. Advantage Atlanta.

Other Week 10 Matchups

Additionally, the jumbo package starting at 1 PM EST and 6 PM GMT (with home teams first) is as follows:

  • (5-4) Panthers v New Orleans Saints (1-8)

  • (5-3) Chicago Bears v Giants (2-7)

  • (3-5) Texans v Jaguars (5-3)

  • (2-7) Miami Dolphins v Bills (6-2)

  • (4-4) Vikings v Baltimore Ravens (3-5)

  • (1-7) Jets v Browns (2-6)

  • (6-2) Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Patriots (7-2)

What a feast. I’m planting my flag on Minnesota and Baltimore playing out the game of the day.
