Check out 29 Latest Cards from Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating superheroes are coming to Magic: The Gathering. The popular trading card game's company, Wizards of the Coast, unveiled a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration during a exclusive panel held at NYCC. Is this a exciting new set or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you decide.

Take a look below at all the details announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key background. All items mentioned here launches on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Core Set Cards

Before we get into all the various special decks and collections available, let’s take a look at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters should run $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a couple of surprising details. First, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak Attack, inspired by the already established Ninjutsu, in which players can cheat powerful creatures into the game field whenever an attacker goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can affect non-creature spells as well. Wizards also used this chance to refine the mechanic a little (It counts as playing a spell, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability isn't going away, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we were to return to Kamigawa, we might use the original ability since that's where it was developed and it is iconic of that world,” a senior designer explained. “But on other planes, because the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with unique artwork created specifically for the set by TMNT original artist the co-creator.

Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which lets you play cards that aren't in your main deck, many players were. But as per Wizards, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.

In any case, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. Developers state they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions like Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for 15 months and we knew it would be Standard-legal and which sets would be near it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to make sure that they work well with certain expansions like Edge of Eternities.”

As an instance, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red strategy focused on artifact cards.

“They mesh together to provide the components for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it includes six distinct legendary cards that can serve as your Commander based on how you combine them (five of the cards have a special partner ability named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command zone instead of just one). Check them out for yourself:

The Turtle Power precon is set at $69.99, though the price may rise based on popularity. Wizards told that it includes 43 new cards in total, which translates to an additional 37 Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, that also means approximately 20 reprints if we assume the precon includes 37 lands.)

How will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Standard Edition)

As per usual, the company is selling a bundle. It is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • One Large spindown life counter
  • 1 storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it is packaged in a box resembling a pizza box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • Nine Play Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • 2 Foil pizza bundle promo cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Oversized spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

If you’re wondering what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s basically a reprint of an older card featuring brand-new Turtle-themed artwork. The team showed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards in total.

The Pizza Bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Night

This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

  • 12 Play Boosters (ideal for four people to draft)
  • One Premium Booster (also known as, the prize for coming in first)
  • 90 Regular basic lands (to build your draft deck)
  • 10 Non-foil token cards
  • One drafting guide (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, the developers are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its ongoing effort to develop Magic game products aimed at beginners. In this case, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that allow two players team up against a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The concept is that each Boss card grants special abilities to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays an additional card per turn, and you’ll start off battling {one Boss|
